HARI exhibition

19th Nov-21st Dec - 47 King Edward Street HU1 3RW

This is an exhibiton of work responding to THIS PLACE events and themes in and around Hull in the summer of 2022. THIS PLACE is a project exploring the simultaneous places that we all inhabit - Land, Body, Community, Politics, History... Its an invitation for various local communities to explore their relation to the spaces they live in, and the people and forces at play in those spaces. It also tries to aid efforts to Common - to pool resources for resilience in the face of present and future hardships. It's a communal investigation into our communal needs, and it tries to feed back into an archive of research from which we can continue to learn and act.

This exhibition is part of that growing communal archive, communicating the experiences of seven artists during and alongside various community workshops and discussions.

WHAT WE CAN AND CAN'T DO:
We are a small group of community organisers, making it up as we go along! All the events are free. If you would like to offer your help in anyway get in touch! If you can't get to an event, we might be able to help, so do get in touch.
We cannot provide trained counselors, but will have enough experience within our talking circles to hold a supportive space.

Some of the walks and bike rides will be over rough terrain, so please get in touch with any questions and consider meeting us at the destination.

CAN I BRING MY KIDS?
We've tried our best to make events accessible to parents; some events will have a Crèche or a 'kids corner', a couple of the events are adults only, and all the other events are child friendly.
Kids corner= space for kids to hang out with toys and activities, but no supervision.
Crèche= 2 adults on hand to look after kids.
Child friendly= Kids are welcome to join in with the event if they are supervised by an adult.
Adults only= sorry!

I CAN'T AFFORD IT!
Some of the events require you to bring your own packed lunch or meet us somewhere. We want to help out with the costs, so if you need help with lifts, bus fares, packed lunch, other supplies you might need (e.g. for the camp trip) please get in touch!

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Unfortunately some of the venues do not have wheelchair access.
We have written whether each event is wheelchair accessible or not.

QUESTIONS?
If there's something we can sort to help you get to an event, or if you
have questions about accessibility, please get in touch.
